Mission Statement

To promote labour peace by means of a central negotiating forum for the negotiation and implementation of conditions of employment. It goes beyond the mere maintaining of labour peace. The Bargaining Council is also there to bring about a favourable, positive, and constructive relationship between employers and employees.

  • Council delegates and staff aim to reach the following objectives:
To provide a centralised forum for the negotiation of conditions of employment by elected delegates.
  • To actively promote an understanding of the roles of the Bargaining Council to all stakeholders.
  • To oversee the administration of the Bargaining Council on the basis of a trusteeship of Industry moneys and to pro-actively ensure the continuity of the funding of benefits to meet future requirements.
